The eGuide

This eGuide is divided into 3 main parts :-

These can be accessed from the links on the front (home) page.

The Traffic Guide

Color Code White. This guide provides a quick reference to commonly used aspects of traffic legislation in England. Many sections of the guide are also applicable in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. It covers the basic aspects of the law, providing a first point of reference and guidance for more detailed research into any particular area.

A Table of Contents links to chapters within the Guide which in turn link to the pages within the chapter. In addition links are provided from the pages directly to the corresponding Act, Regulation, Directive or Guidance to which they refer.

The Criminal Guide

Color Code Red. This guide provides a quick reference to commonly used aspects of general criminal legislation in England. Some sections of the guide may also be applicable in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

A Table of Contents links to chapters within the Guide which in turn link to the pages within the chapter. In addition links are provided from the pages directly to the corresponding Act, Regulation, Directive or Guidance to which they refer.

Legislation

Color Code Yellow. This part contains links to Acts, Statutory Instruments, Orders, EU legislation, Codes of Practice and guidelines to which the Traffic and Criminal Guides refer. These links are mainly to external sites which supply the source material and are marked with this symbol . They require an active internet connection and will open in a new window. These sites , unlike this eGuide, may not be optimised for viewing on smaller screens. Some texts within these external archives are produced in their original form, others contain updates. In some cases we provide a link to the amending material rather than the original text.

Some legislation not readily available or not provided in an easy to use format is repurposed in this eGuide, such public sector information is licensed under the Open Government Licence v1.0. - new window or reproduced under the terms of the European Union copyright notice - new window.
The new format of these files is the copyright of 53meridian Ltd. These internal links are marked and do not require an internet connection (providing the app-cache has been loaded). They will open in the existing window and are optimised for viewing on all screen sizes.

Legislation is arranged alphabetically and can be accessed from the Legislation link on the Home Page or via links provided within the text of the Traffic and Criminal Guides.
